	125 years ago, the IOKDS was founded. This month, 7 students walked the aisles as graduates of The King's Daughters' School. The day was overcast but hearts and minds were bright and clear as our school honored Katie Hawks Karen Hurt Keith Kirby Justin Owens Bradley Hickerson Lauren Taylor and Jason Metcalf Shauna Bryant, Asst. Executive Director of KDS, more than 80 family and friends to the 2009 Graduation ceremonies. The invocation was offered by Landon White, Science teacher at KDS before turning the microphone over to Ms. kate Byrd who performed a moving musical tribute to the grads. Executive Director, Dr. David Craig, delivered an encouraging speech to the graduates for when they make their way through the world outside. The most heartwarming moment came when Mr. Chet Carney, father to graduate Keith Kirby, addressed the graduates and his son, in turn offered the graduates reply. Diplomas were issued by KDS Principal Jennifer Ballard, Asst. Principal Tanner Bryant and CFA Coordinator Meredith Pettigrew. After tassels were turned to the left, a congratulatory reception was held amongst friends, staff, families and graduates at Vinson Hall.
