The Maury County Special Olympics came to Columbia Academy in the form of more than 300 athletes from around the county. Each competitor was game on do their best and represent their team to the best of their abilities.

Ben Neidballa offered the Oath of the Special Olympics and Tim Rountree led the Pledge of Allegiance with the color guard holding the flags high.

From sprints to broadjumps to softball throws, each athlete competed with the dignity and poise of professional athletes.

The food was furnished again this year by the Elks Lodge. Our thanks to the Elks, Doris Florist, Telephone Pioneers, NAIFA, Columbia Academy and all the volunteers for making the 2009 Spring Games a glowing success.
