Yuletide Wishes Come True for KDS StudentsImagine waking on Christmas morning. There is just a hint of frost on the ground as you peer through the window looking for that first snow fall. You gather a blanket around you and open the door to your room. Your heart is racing with excitement as you scuttle down the hallway leading to the living room. Has Santa come? Did I get those clothes I need and the toys I wished for!?
Thanks to Community First Bank & Trust employees and patrons, the children of KDS no longer have to worry. The eighth annual Santas Mailbox/Christmas for KDS Program, sponsored by Community First Bank and Trust invites community members to bring Christmas cheer to children at The King's Daughters' School (KDS) who are in state custody. KDS serves more than 40 hard-to-place foster children for the State of Tennessee, explains Shauna Bryant, Assistant Executive Director at KDS. These children spend the holidays with us at school. The Santas Mailbox Program at Community First provides toys, games, and plenty of Christmas cheer for these boys and girls. Students at KDS have written letters to Santa that have been delivered to Community First Bank & Trust. From November 23-December 14, these letters can be found in Santas Mailboxes, located in the lobbies of Community First Bank. Each letter contains one Christmas wish item, and customers can pick a letter that they would like to fill from any of these mailboxes. Santas Mailboxes are located in all four Maury County Community First branches: 501 South James Campbell Blvd.; 601 North Garden Street; 105 Public Square in Mt. Pleasant; and inside the Wal-Mart SuperCenter in Columbia. Gifts are due back to Community First by December 12, when they will be wrapped by Kings Daughters Circle members and placed in Santas bag, ready for delivery on Christmas Eve. Community First is excited to sponsor this program, and we thank our customers who participate and make Christmas brighter for these special boys and girls, comments Marc Lively, President and CEO of Community First Bank and Trust. Every child deserves a Merry Christmas, and we are honored to help that happen for the young people at The King's Daughters' School. | ||
